Sony has turned to Nvidia for chipset to boost the graphics performance in its new desktop PC line based on the Athlon XP chip. The new Vaio PCV-RXA842 comes with Athlon XP 2400+ processor and Nvidia's nForce chipset.
The latest nForce chip incorporates a graphics core that eliminates the need for a separate board, while granting the machine decent graphics performance, according to analysts.
Sony used a chipset from Silicon Integrated Systems on its previous AMD-based desktops.
