Toshiba Corp. has become the first licensee for Rambus's next generation high-speed Yellowstone memory interface, according to Rambus in a statement.
Yellowstone memory interface reduces the pin count for memory chips and lowers the cost of controller chips. It is targeted for use in new generation consumer electronic products, networking, as well as grahpic cards where extremely high data rates are needed for these applications.
