VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced net sales for October 2002 of NT$ 2.53 billion. On a sequential basis, this monthly sales revenue represents a 19.90% increase over September's figure of NT$ 2.11 billion.
"October saw another month of positive sales momentum driven by a combination of seasonal factors and continued growing demand for our innovative new platforms targeted at emerging market segments," said Richard Brown, Director of Marketing at VIA Technologies, Inc.
Meanwhile, VIA's president and CEO Chen Wen Chi said that the company's is not affected by German’s court decision on the lawsuit filed by Intel on VIA's P4X266 chipset. VIA questioned the legality of the ruling since the legal papers were not delivered properly and consequently it could not be present at the hearing. Thus request for retrial.
Few Taiwanese companies used this chipset since Intel has filed the lawsuit last year and also whoever has used VIA's chispet. Only Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) boldly to use P4X266 chipset after VIA assured its client that they will be protected against such lawsuit.
