BenQ Corp. announced that last month shipment of mobile phone reached 1.9 million units, a new record for the company. From November's shipment, the company generated combined revenue of NT$9.68 billion, up by 9 percent compared to the same period of last year.
In the first 11 months, BenQ delivered a total of 14.7 million mobile handsets. Total sales are expected to hit 16 million units for 2002, higher than the target of 14 million units While the total revenue from January to November reached NT$95.9 billion, increase by 55 percent compared to the same time of last year.
BenQ is expecting that fourth quarter sales will increase by 20 percent compared to third quarter of the year. BenQ's product line includes flat-screen liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors, mobile phones and data storage products such as CD and DVD-ROM drives for computers.
Soon, BenQ is planning to add notebook-computer into their product line that would generate around NT$10 billion to its sales over the next two years, due to strong demand from Europe and the fast-growing China market.
