Infineon Technologies said on Tuesday it had signed a new deal to increase the supply of DRAM memory chips to U.S.-based Kingston Technology, worth some $2.5 billion over five years, said an Infineon spokeman.
Infineon said the deal would already have a positive impact on revenues in the current fiscal year, which ends in September 2003.
Infineon is the world's third largest memory chip maker with a 14 percent market share. It ranks behind South-Korea's Samsung Electronics and U.S.-based Micron.
Kingston claimed to be the largest third party memory maker in the world. Its Web site claims sales of more than $1.6 billion in 2000.
