Samsung Electronics annoince it will build fifth-generation, TFT-LCD production lines in preparation for the rapidly expanding TFT-LCD market.
The facilities, which will be built within the company's Chunan production facilities, are scheduled to begin production in October 2003.
Samsung said plans to manufacture 17-inch and 20-inch products for LCD-TVs with a monthly capacity of 60,000 units. It has invested 66 billion won to start construction this month, and plans to invest a total of 1.6 trillion won during the first half of 2003
