Mosaid Technologies said that Infineon Technologies's counter lawsuit in a California court seeking to overturn seven Mosaid patents covering DRAM technologies as invalid.
The fabless chip company argued that Infineon Technologies has infringed many its patents, said Mosaid spokeman in a statement.
Mosaid believes that all companies which manufacture mainstream DRAM products, including single and double data rate synchronous DRAMs and Rambus DRAMs, use its patented circuit technology. Mosaid said it has twelve companies on notice for patent infringement.
So far, seven major semiconductor manufacturers have already taken a license to the disputed patents including Fujitsu, NEC, Toshiba, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, Oki Electric and Matsushita, the company added. On the contrary, Infineon and Samsung, the world third and largest DRAM makers, have not prepared to make that step.
The same seven patents are also the subject of a lawsuit filed by Mosaid against Samsung in the New Jersey District Court, the company said.
