After receiving approval from the Investment Commission under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Asustek Computer Inc. will inject NT$115.5 million to expand the production lines of its China plant in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
The expansion project will be focused on video games, notebook PCs, and motherboards to meet the market demand. Asustek Computer estimates its revenue to exceed the NT$100 billion mark in 2002 and will continue growing in 2003.
Executives at Asustek Computer said that its China’s affiliates had obtained motherboard orders from Intel, Dell, and Hewlett-Packard. Asustek has now set up five manufacturing companies mostly in Suzhou, China as the manufacturing base. It expects to use Shanghai as the center to promote its own brand business in the China's market.
