Nvidia and Microsoft announced they have settled all issues related to pricing of the Microsoft Xbox GPU and MCP chipset and have ended their arbitration.
In addition to resolving this pricing dispute, the two companies have agreed to collaborate on future cost reductions for the video-game system.
"This is a win for both companies, and we couldn't be more delighted with the results," said Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia's president and CEO, in a statement. "Nvidia and Microsoft can now take our partnership to the next level and focus our substantial resources to maximize the full potential of Xbox game console."
The case began in April 2002 when Nvidia complained that it had to agree to binding arbitration with Microsoft over the prices it charges for Nvidia graphics chipsets. Nvidia claimed the Xbox design engineering was far costlier than it expected because Microsoft moved the design target several times.
