Sanmina-SCI Corp. said today it will use InfiniBand technology to provide customers with enhanced design services.
The San Jose contractor is planning to introduce a line of production-ready designs and products that use InfiniBand switched network technology to increase the bandwith of computer and storage system processors.
Many EMS providers like Sanmina-SCI have been pursuing ways to enhance design services to bring products to market faster. Sanmina-SCI's InfiniBand-based solutions will be targeted at data center and high- performance technical computing applications.
"We are offering the InfiniBand line of products as part of the overall series of production ready original design manufacturing (ODM) solutions, with the specific goal of providing our customers cost and time-to-market benefits in today's competitive marketplace," said Sundar Kamath, senior vice president of Sanmina-SCI's Global Technology Solutions in a statement.
