Taiwan-based motherboard maker Acorp Electronics plans to add two production lines at its China-based subsidiary Hua Shun Technology this year, as the subsidiary’s capacity utilization is now reaching 100% with increasing orders.
Hua Shun already expanded from one to four SMT lines in 2002. However, the company is now feeling tight capacity with a recent big-ticket DVD player assembly order from a major Taiwanese home electronics maker on top of its motherboard orders from Acorp.
This year Acorp decided to set up two more SMT lines, in order to raise Hua Shun’s overall capacity by 50%. Hua Shun is expecting to increase profits this year, which has just break even last year.
