Samsung Electronics,maintained its position as the world's top supplier of TFT-LCDs for five years in a row.
According to a report released by Display Research, a U.S.-based marketing research company, Samsung Electronics controlled 17% of the world TFT-LCD market for 10-inch and bigger sized products.
Also, Samsung Electronics was the largest TFT-LCD manufacturer in terms of sales value, enjoying sales amounting to US$3.08 billion in 2002.
Meanwhile, LG Philips LCD Co, Ltd, another Korean TFT-LCD maker, followed with 16.6% of the market, while Taiwan-based AU Optronics Corp took third place with a 13.3% market share.
