Tektronix, Inc announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility in China,known as Tektronix (China).
The building will initially serve as a primary manufacturing site for the region. The company expects to continue to grow its presence over time by including even more services at the facility.
"China is a major economic power and has become the world's fastest growing major economy over the past decade. Continued expansion in China allows us to support customers in this major market, which strengthens our overall objective of increasing market penetration," said Rick Wills, CEO and President, Tektronix.
Manufacturing plans include production of the TDS1000 and TDS2000 digital storage oscilloscopes, which were designed specifically to be manufactured in China.
The new facility, known as Tektronix (China) Co. Ltd, is the company's newest operation in China. Tektronix opened its first office in China in 1983. In 1992, the company opened its first manufacturing facility. Currently, Tektronix has 10 locations in China, including sales, service, and manufacturing facilities.
