Intel honors 13 companies with Its" Most Prestigious Supplier Award"

Intel announced the 13 winners of company's most prestigious award for suppliers, the Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award, for outstanding commitment to quality and performance excellence in 2002.
The SCQI recognizes companies that provided products and services deemed essential to Intel's business success. This select group will be honored at a ceremony in Burlingame, Calif. on March 26.
The 2002 SCQI winners are: Disco Corp.; HP; Kester, a division of Northrop Grumman Corp.; NEC Electronics Corp.; Rockwell Automation; Sanyo Denki Co., Ltd.; Senju Metal Industry Co.; Shinko Electric Industries Co., Ltd.; Sumitomo Mitsubishi Silicon Corp.; Tokyo Electron Ltd.; Tokyo Ohka Kogyo Co., Ltd.; United Van Lines, LLC.; and Viasystems Group Inc.
"It is my pleasure to recognize this accomplished group of suppliers for their exemplary performance," said Robert J. Baker, Intel senior vice president and general manager of Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group. "Intel is recognizing 13 suppliers which differentiate themselves through their innovation, outstanding performance and customer satisfaction. Their accomplishments in 2002 have been truly impressive in light of difficult business conditions."
"Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement award winners have demonstrated sustained world-class performance," said Sunlin Chou, Intel senior vice president and general manager of Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group. "These suppliers provide innovative contributions to Intel's process-technology roadmap, outstanding quality, delivery and cost leadership, and dedicated commitment to safety and manufacturing excellence. Our suppliers play a vital role in Intel's ability to meet customer requirements, and we are happy to recognize their significant accomplishments."
The SCQI awards are part of Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process, which encourages Intel's suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Intel will also recognize SCQI winners with an advertisement in U.S., European and Asian editions of The Wall Street Journal today.
