A Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) employee reported as a SARS suspect in the Hsin Chu, Taiwan, area has been released from the hospital to start a 14-day quarantine at home, SiS announced today.
The Taiwan-based company said the employee's body temperature has been below 38°C, and the results of leukocyte index and X-ray were normal during her five-day hospitalized quarantine, which started April 30.
The SiS R&D building in Hsin Chu resumed normal working hours on Monday. The disinfection was completed on May 1 and no more suspected cases have been reported since then, SiS said.
"Throughout the process, we have dealt with the incident with speed and calmness; therefore, the SiS business operation has been intact," Michael Chen, SiS' president and CEO, said in a statement. "The fab continues to improve yield and efficiency; the production and delivery are smooth and the R&D has followed the roadmap closely. We thank for the attention and support from all that care for us, and we should rid all employees, family members, customers, partners and our investors of worries.”
