Coinciding with the launch of a trio of chipsets, Intel Corp. today announced three Pentium 4 processors supporting its Hyper-Threading (HT) technology and a 800MHz system bus, the 2.80C, 2.60C and 2.40C GHz.
The 865G and 865PE chipsets, formerly code-named Springdale, were designed for P4s with HT technology and Intel's 800MHz system bus, the company said, adding that they also include an AGP8x graphics interface, integrated USB 2.0 and Serial ATA 1.5Gbits/sec.
865G supports dual-channel DDR400/333/266 memory, while 865PE supports DDR400.
A third chipset, 865P, supports dual-channel DDR333/266 memory, AGP8x graphics cards, and both 533MHz and 400MHz system buses.
In 1,000-unit quantities, 2.80C, 2.60C and 2.40C GHz are priced at $278, $218 and $178, respectively. 865G is priced at $44 with integrated software RAID, $41 without RAID. 865PE is priced at $39 with integrated software RAID, $36 without. 865P is priced at $36 with integrated software RAID, $33 without.
