Rambus Inc claimed that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has dismissed a shareholder suit against the company
The suit, entitled "In re: Rambus, Inc. Securities Litigation," came about through allegations concerning Rambus' 1991 to 1995 attendance at standard setting body JEDEC. The case consolidated multiple purported class actions filed against Rambus in 2001.
Although no class had yet been certified, the court had appointed lead plaintiffs in 2001, Rambus said. These lead plaintiffs recently moved for dismissal following rulings favoring Rambus from the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the company claimed.
"Dismissal of the shareholder suit represents a further significant step forward for Rambus," said John Danforth, VP and general counsel for Rambus, in a statement. "We are pleased that the Court and the lead plaintiffs in this matter have dismissed this case with prejudice and in line with the guidance of the Federal Circuit."
