Dell adds new printers

Tuesday, June 24, 2003

Dell Computer introduced three new printers Monday to its printer lineup. Dell entered the printer market in March with Lexmart International as manufacture partner.

The Dell Workgroup Laser Printer M5200n, the Dell Personal Inkjet Printer J740, and the Dell Personal All-In-One Printer A920 are all available in North America as of Monday, and will be available in other parts of the world later this year, Dell said in a release.

Business customers will be able to print up to 35 pages per minute on the $999 M5200n printer, Dell said. It comes with a Web-based monitoring tool for administrators to keep track of toner and paper levels in the networked printer.

The personal printers also come with software that keeps users up to date on their printer's ink level with each print job. The J740 costs $99, and can print up to 18 pages per minute of standard text. The A920 comes with a printer, scanner, and copier for $89.

Customers in the United States who purchase a new Dell printer can have their old printers picked up by Dell for recycling, the company said.
