IBM Corp, announced the establishment of a new center in Haifa, Israel that will provide technology design services for advanced chip applications.
The Haifa organization will focus on component solutions, especially in the areas of ASIC logic design, full custom digital and analog circuit design, array design, physical design and verification.
The move adds another 40 engineers to IBM Engineering & Technology Services (E&TS) unit, now numbering approximately 1,000 technical professionals worldwide.
The Haifa lab will collaborate with other E&TS organizations located in the United States at Burlington, Vt., Endicott, N.Y., Rochester, Minn., Austin, Texas and in Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; in Europe, at Mainz, Germany; in Japan at Yamato; and in India at Bangalore.
