Sandisk 2nd quarter profits jumps as sales grew substantially. Net profit were $41.3 million on revenue of $234.6 million, a 84 percent increase year-over-year. Net income for the same quarter last year were $9 million.
Sandisk expected third-quarter product revenues to be slightly higher than the second quarter. Analysts' estimates for the 3rd quarter revenue are $207.7 million.
The demand for flash memory (NAND) are strong due to applications like digital camera, cell-phones, and portable storage devices.
