Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has entered into a strategic research partnership with the MIT Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to try and identify new technologies and product opportunities.
Samsung plans to invest $3.75 million over the next five years in the program, the company said on Friday. The research is to be based in the digital multimedia domain would include assessing the impact of technological progress on human life-styles at home and work.
In addition, Nicholas Negroponte, founder of MIT Media Lab, is to attend the first anniversary of the Samsung Lee Kun Hee Scholarship Foundation on July 28, as keynote speaker.
