Texas Instruments remains determined to enter the CDMA market despite recent patent infringement lawsuit brought by Qualcomm.
“Qualcomm has enjoyed many years of selling CDMA chips against little or no competition. TI intends to establish this market as a level playing field in which open competition prevails and consumers benefit. Qualcomm's legal maneuvers will not distract us from pursuing the CDMA market,” said TI senior vice president Joseph F. Hubach.
TI CEO, during a conference, also reaffirmed the company's determination in entering the CDMA market.
“We will resist it and fight it vigorously,” said the CEO. “It is our interpretation that the timing and the reason for this is perhaps to influence our ability to enter that market as rapidly as we would like.”
