Wi-Fi market is expected to grow over the next few years but overall revenues will remain flat as vendors drop prices to fight competition and to control more market share, according to market research firm.
The Wi-Fi market is expected to grow to $3.1 billion in 2007 from $1.5 billion last year, a market research showed. "You'll have tremendous price erosion in the market," analyst said. "You'll have very, very strong unit growth, but the revenue will be muted because of the big price declines."
Home wireless networking to share high-speed connections will become increasing popular. Convenience and low cost are among the major attraction for consumers.
Wi-Fi adoption in the enterprise, nevertheless, is expected to be slower due to network security reason and wireless connections within office is not a must-have thing in today economic environment. |
