Contract prices for 333mhz 256Mbits DDR DRAMs rose steadily in Asia since May 20, Dow Jones reported. DRAM chip contract prices, adjusted every two weeks, jumped by around 3.5 percent to a range of $5.38-to-$5.00 per chip, according to DRAMeXchange, a DRAM clearing house.
Contract prices for DDR400, rose by around 4.5 percent to $5.75-to-$5.19 from a previous range of $5.50-to-$4.94, according to the report.
As Gartner reported earlier, worldwide DRAM revenue is predicted to reach $5.1 billion in the third quarter of 2003, a 37.8 percent increase over the third quarter of 2002. Total projected DRAM revenue for the year will be $18.9 billion, a 21.8 percent increase from 2002.
