Elpida Memory today unveiled its new 512Mbit DDR400 SDRAM chip and a 1Gbyte PC3200 DIMM,slated for the high-performance desktop and workstation market.
The 512Mbit DDR400 is available in a 64Mbit x 8 configuration in a TSOP package. It has a latency of either 3-3-3 or 3-4-4. Samples have a list price of $62 each.
The unbuffered PC3200 DIMM has 16 of the 512Mbit DDR400 components and is available in x8 configuration at a sample list price of $1,000 each or a x72 configuration supporting error correction code at a sample list price of $1,124.
Both are sampling and are expected to be in volume production in December.
