Samsung said it has begun mass production of 576Mbit RDRAM, which used in supercomputers, advanced servers and higher network equipment developers, said an analyst.

The 576Mbit RDRAM is available in module form with up to 1Gbyte in density in various options: 16-bit RIMM, 32-bit RIMM, SoRIMM, NexMod and 4-channel RIMM.

The chip is manufactured on 0.11-micron process technology. On one channel, the chip operates at 2.4Gbyte/sec. On a four-channel system it operates at 9.6Gbyte/sec.
