Growing demand on LCD TVs has made Acer to consider buying additional TFT LCD panels from Samsung Electronics and LG.Philips, according to Digitimes.

Aside from the 4 million panels Acer would need from Samsung, the company said it will add additional 2 million panels from Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) of Taiwan for the upcoming growing demand.

Acer’s president, who just returned from meetings with Samsung and LG.Philips LCD in South Korea, said that his company is scheduled to launch LCD TVs in the fourth quarter of 2003.
