Sharp unveils its Mebius PC-RD3D laptap with 3D feature which requires no special glasses to view the three-dimensional images, Sharp said.
The new laptop is for people who design three-dimensional software, but Sharp also is planning a model for average consumers, a company spokeswoman said.
The computer uses a special display technique on its 3-D images by sending a slightly different image to the right eye and the left eye at once by bending them in different angles, Sharp said. Users can switch back and forth between its 3-D feature and a regular display by a push of a button.
The laptop is priced at $3,000 and is planned to be shipped in Japan on Oct. 27 and later this year in the United States, the company said.
