Hynix Semiconductor Inc succeeded in returning to the black during the third quarter after five continuous quarters in the red, company officials said on October 22.
The company said sales during the July-September period amounted to 1.81 trillion won on operation profits of 94 billion won. This is a 28% increase in sales on a quarterly comparison. Hynix suffered operation deficits of 183 billion during the April-June period of 2003.
A recovery in the semiconductor market, as well as an increase in production that allowed cost cuts, attributed to the profits, a company official said.
