ProMOS Technologies, a major DRAM maker in Taiwan, is getting ready to build its second 12-inch fab late in the first quarter of next year, according to company spokesperson.
Significant percentage of the DRAM output by this fab will be allocated for two major clients, the spokesperson said but declined to identify the clients.
Despite earlier reports that ProMOS would build the new fab jointly with two companies, ProMOS has sufficient fund now to consider building the fab on its own, the compay spokesperson said. The form of cooperation will not affect ProMOS’s promise on capacity allocation.
