Celestica Inc have announced it has opened a manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China, supported by more than 1,600 employees.
The facility is located in the Singapore-Suzhou Industrial Park and is the second such plant built by Celestica in the Suzhou region in the past three years, bringing the company's total investment in Suzhou to more than $140 million.
"This state-of-the-art facility expands Celestica's presence in China and adds substantial capability to the region," said Cliff Chu, vice president, China Operations, Celestica, in a statement. "Celestica has two other facilities in China in Shanghai and Dongguan. The proximity of the facilities brings business benefits to Celestica's customers and allows the company to leverage enhanced operational efficiencies."
Celestica said the Suzhou site brings OEMs a range of high-volume and low-mix to low-volume and high-mix manufacturing capabilities.
