Infineon Technologies AG will supply memory chips to Chinese memory module manufacturer Ramaxel in a five-year deal that could yield $300 million in sales.
Ramaxel is China's biggest provider of memory chip modules. Munich-based Infineon, which has about 18 percent of the Chinese memory chip market and 5 percent of the overall chip market, sees potential accumulated revenues of as much as $300 million over the course of the contract.. . Infineon has this year moved to bolster its position in China and aims to invest $1.2 billion in the country over the next four years, the report said. In September the company announced that it was opening Chinese headquarters in Shanghai, hoping to bolster its share of the Chinese market to 10 percent over the next five years.
