The chairman of the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), Dr. Frank Huang said that the global IT is recovering and the outlook for next year is better than this year.
Huang, also the chairman of Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. (PSC) expecting the corporate spending for next year will be better, while the consumer spending will be much weaker than this year. Huang made the remarks during the press conference of IT Month show this Monday. Huang said.
More than 350 companies participated in this year IT Month and is expecting to attract more than 2 million visitors, compared with 1.89 million visitors last year, said Tina Tseng, TCA’s executive official in-charge of IT Month. This year, IT Month has greater opportunity for consumers to purchase consumer electronics products such as notebook PCs, desktop PCs, digital cameras and game consoles at amazing low prices.
IT Month will start on November 29 to December 7 at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC). Then moved to Taichung, central Taiwan and Kao Hsiung, southern Taiwan before winding on second week of January 2004.
Meanwhile, the Importers and Exporters Association released its winter edition of the Taiwan International Trade magazine. This issue focus on the success of COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2003 and highlights Taiwan's industrial strengths and value adding opportunities. It also include an insights regarding the COMPUTEX TAIPEI to become a serious contender to COMDEX Fall in Las Vegas, presently hold on to second place as world largest IT exhibition.
