Samsung Electronics announced that it has developed an LCD panel for 57-inch televisions.

The new LCD panel is the largest size able to be manufactured on the fifth line of Samsung's Cheonan Plant.

Following the development of a 40-inch LCD panel in August 2001, Samsung developed 46-inch and 54-inch monitors in October and December of 2002, respectively.

Samsung's new product will compete against LG.Philips LCD's largest panel of 55-inches that was developed in October.
