Legend launched PDA based on Motorola's processor

Thursday, December 11, 2003 Legend Group rolled out a handheld PDA, based on Motorola Inc.'s i.MXL applications processor.

The Lenovo line from Legend is said to be the world's first handheld device running Palm OS 5 Simplified Chinese Edition. The product comes in two versions. The Lenovo P100 is for students and the Lenovo P300 is aimed for professionals and business users.

The Lenovo P100 is an affordable, entry-level handheld for users requiring simple personal information management functionality, including a "DateBook" and "Calendar," according to Legend. Meanwhile, the Lenovo P300 model offers advanced functions and additional applications such as email, expense tracking and currency conversion, according to the PC maker.

"The Motorola i.MXL applications processor meets our stringent requirements for performance, power consumption and overall system cost," said Liu Junyan, general manager of the Pocket Digital Business unit of Legend Group. "We found that to provide a satisfying end-user experience with the battery life users demand, the i.MXL applications processor delivers."

Motorola's i.MXL applications processor helps enhance the Lenovo handheld devices by providing "Smart Speed" technology, which minimizes the system power requirements when running a variety of applications.
