Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and BLX IC Design Corp. Ltd. of China on Thursday (Dec. 11) announced they have opened a new design center in here
The AMD/BLX Development Center will integrate AMD and BLX technologies for use in developing thin client solutions.
The first solutions from the center include a pair of thin client reference designs. The so-called BLX Thin Client RDK design is based on AMD's 400-MHz Alchemy Au1500 processor. Another version is based on the BLX Godson-1 32-bit low-cost processor.
BLX plans to target OEMs with the thin client technology. AMD plans to promote the designs from the AMD/BLX Development Center to global OEM market outside of China.
Target opportunities for these solutions include thin client, mobile client devices and access/networking devices.
