Yahoo Inc. is expected to drop Google as the primary search engine on its site within a few months, according to a report familiar with the matter.
Yahoo was widely expected to make such move in part because it spent more than $2 billion last year to buy search technology through its acquisitions of Inktomi Corp. and Overture Services Inc.
The expected move comes as the number one search enginer, Google, plans to go public this spring.
