Spot market DRAM prices have been up for the last four weeks, reported iSuppli Corp. On the other hand, OEM contract prices remain firm due to slow demand from PCs OEMs.
This rise in trading activity could serve as a mildly positive indicator that a market recovery could begin soon. If the upward pricing momentum in the spot market persists for a few more weeks, contract prices will follow, iSuppli indicated.
The company however remains doubtful that the recovery in DRAM demand is coming soon.
According to the company, DRAM suppliers will be increasing their production volume in February which could bring pressure to the spot market prices.
