Infineon Technologies said it will spend Euro 120 million (US$152 million) to expand its memory development center in Dresden.
The company will construct a new building on the premises of its Dresden fab, with a development cleanroom at its center. Infineon expects to hire add 120 employees for the so-called Memory Development Center expansion in the current fiscal year.
The Memory Development Center's new capacity will be housed in a new building complex to be erected immediately next to Infineon's existing semiconductor fab by early 2005. Construction is scheduled to start in the middle of this year.
