Early this week, an anti-virus companies rise warning that new worms detected and spreading across the internet world. The first worn name is Bagle-B, also known as Tanx-A and it spreads via an attachment sent in e-mail with the subject line "ID," followed by various random characters and the message text "Yours ID."
The worm, which is a type of virus, spoofs the "From," which cause the unaware PC user to click on the attached executable file, the worm program execute and will open a "backdoor" to the computer for remote access and harvest e-mail addresses to forward itself on to other computer users.
The second worm name is Netsky.b, uses spoofed "From" addresses and a wide range of subject headings and message text to trick recipients into opening the accompanying attached file. The subject can be either an "empty" or one of the following title: "hi" " info" "read it immediately" "thanks" "fake" "hello" and "stolen." The file attachment comes with a double extension the first of which shows innocuous file types such as .txt, .doc, .rtf, or .htm. The second attachment such as in .exe, .scr, .com, or .pif formats.
First line of defense is NOT TO OPEN these emails and DELETE immediately. Quickly add the above titles into your message filter, prefer delete from the server. Please remember to update your anti-virus program often to protect you from worms and virus attacks as well as hacker intrusion.
