DDR in tight supply

For the week of March 10, average spot prices for 256Mbit (32Mbitx8) DDR400 were flat while DDR333 and DDR266 in same capacity were up slightly, according to a report from market analysts.

Prices for Samsung 333Mhz and 400Mhz 256MB modules were at US$36 and US$42 respectively. Untested 256Mbit chips were quoted at US$4.37, up from US$4.00 at the beginning of March.

DRAM prices is heading towards north late last week and that mementum seems to stay due to tighter supply and bullish demand, according to the analysts.
