LG.Philips LCD Co Ltd said that it will invest a total of 25 trillion won in its seventh TFT-LCD production facility in Paju.
The LCD plant will begin production of large-sized (42-inch or bigger) TFT-LCDs starting in the first half of 2006.
"We hope to build a research and development (R&D) center as well as invest in facilities for our contractors," an LG official said.
LG said more than 100 companies, including local contractors and foreign firms, have plans to participate in supplying the overall facility.
