Powertech Technology Incorporated (PTI) will embark in NAND flash wafer probing business, providing a turnkey services to its customers, according to sources. The company indicated that the decision to begin wafer probing is based upon customers’ request.

The company said flash memory testing accounts for half of the company’s revenues. Its current customers include Toshiba and US-based Silicon Storage Technology (SST).

In another news, PTI recently added five to six Advantest T5585 testers for its growing DRAM testing and packaging with customers including Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) and US-based Kingston Technology.
