Samsung Electronics Co, Ltd said that its overseas output exceeded 80% of its total production in the first quarter of 2004. In addition, the portion of its exports also surpassed 80%.
The company operates 12 overseas factories and two domestic plants under its digital media sector, for example.
Meanwhile, Samsung announced plans to establish software and digital appliance research and development (R&D) centers in China, following its earlier opening of a semiconductor research center there.
Yun Jong-yong, vice chairman of Samsung Electronics, said at a seminar in Seoul that the company will soon set up a software research center in Nanjing.
