Infineon named Wolfgang Ziebart to be its president and CEO to replace Ulrich Schumacher who was recently ousted by the company's supervisory board.
Ziebart, presently deputy chairman of the board at automotive supplier Continental AG, will assume his new responsibilities at Infineon no later than Sept. 1, the company said.
Continental focused largely on tire manufacturing. Ziebart's hiring ends a stormy period for the German memory maker. The replacement decision came quicker than expected.
