Sources reported that four of Taiwan's mobile phone companies namely Compal Communications, Lite-On Technology, Arima Communications and Quanta Computer are expecting a positive increase in new orders and shipments starting next month.
Shipments of new models are scheduled in the second half of this year for Arima, which has large orders coming from Sony Ericsson for the T100 and Z200 models. While Compal will start mass production of a new model particularly the Motorola's MPx100 smart phones beginning third quarter of this year.
Similarly, Lite-On has shipments also for the third quarter for Nokia, aside from existing orders from LG Electronics. Possible orders may also come from Siemens in the latter part of the year. Quanta is also expected to have a rise in orders from Panasonic for the G70 and GD55 (Panasonic's A101 and X300 will be mass produced in the third quarter) and additional orders from NEC is also anticipated.
