The non-memory operations of Hynix Semiconductor Inc. are to be sold to Citigroup Venture Capital (CVC) for about W950 billion (about US$810 million).
Korea Exchange Bank and other major creditors of Hynix Semiconductor have decided to sell the non-memory operations for 954.3 billion and would collect written endorsements from creditors by Thursday,
"Most of the creditor banks actually agreed with the price and conditions proposed by Citigroup, and led to compromise with the secured creditors about the distribution of the payment. There aren't any obstacles left in the way," the report quoted an official from a key creditor bank as saying.
The report said that Citigroup raised the offer price from 750 billion won to 925 billion won before agreeing a price of 954.3 billion won during the final negotiations. The creditors, who are effectively managing Hynix at present, are scheduling a discussion about "normalizing" management soon, the report said. The attraction of foreign financial investment is expected to be a key part of that.
