Executive changes at Transmeta

Tuesday, June 29, 2004

Microprocessor maker Transmeta Corp. will call on the services of its general counsel, vice president and secretary to fill in as chief financial officer while the company completes an executive search.

John O'Hara Horsley will serve as acting CFO following the resignation of Svend-Olav Carlsen who left to accept an opportunity at a privately held company, Transmeta said in a statement.

"John has a thorough understanding of Transmeta's business, financial reporting, corporate governance and SEC compliance, and he has worked very closely with our strong finance team throughout his four-year tenure at the company," said Matthew Perry, president and CEO, in a statement. "We appreciate John's leadership and effort in assuming this responsibility as we close the current quarter and complete our search for a permanent CFO."

The company is scheduled to release results on July 22.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based Transmeta also said that its senior vice president of marketing, Arthur Swift, will step into the role of leading investor relations on an interim basis.

The acting CFO, Horsley, joined Transmeta as general counsel in July 2000, after government service at the Federal Trade Commission, where his responsibilities included merger review and antitrust enforcement for the semiconductor and computer industries.
