Hynix Semiconductor Inc. reported a net income of 620 billion won (about US$530 million) on 1,698 billion won (about US$1.46 billion) in its second quarter, the company said.
This is the company's highest quarterly profit since its formation in 1983, and was the fourth consecutive quarter of operating profit, the company said.
Revenues increased 26 percent sequentially from 1,350 billion won (about US$1.16 billion) in the previous quarter.
Memory sales increased due to higher volumes, increased average selling prices and growth in sales of flash memory products, Hynix said. Increase in demand for CMOS Image Sensors and LCD driver ICs also attributed to the growth of system IC sales.
