Hynix plans to make the 512Mbit NAND flash to 16 million units per month by year end, according to the sources familiar with the company.
Hynix is quoting its NAND flash more competitively than Samsung in a move to market shares, according to sources at Taiwan’s IC distributors.
Samsung and Toshiba are the top two suppliers of NAND flash memory in the world. With monthly output of 16 millions units, it will not be long for Hynix to catch up with them.
